Who is leading in the U.S. election polls: Harris or Trump?

Who Will Be the Next President of the United States?

The question of who will be the next President of the United States will be decided in the election on November 5th.

Initially, it was anticipated that the election would feature a fierce battle between the current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

However, in July, Joe Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

Since then, both the Democratic and Republican parties have been vigorously campaigning for their respective candidates.

It is reported that both candidates have completed their preparations.

But the question remains: What will be the final outcome of the election? Will American voters elect a female president for the first time, or will Democratic candidate Donald Trump be elected to a second term?

Earlier this year, Republican candidate Donald Trump was trailing in the race. However, Trump's position improved slightly following President Biden’s discomfort during a television debate in June.

Later, although the Democrats replaced Biden with Kamala Harris as their candidate, analysts had predicted that there would not be a significant change in the overall landscape.

However, a new poll presents a different picture. According to an ABC News poll, Kamala Harris is leading in public support compared to Donald Trump. At a recent conference in Chicago, she secured nearly 47 percent of voter support and promised a new direction.

In contrast, Trump’s support remains around 44 percent. Even after Robert F. Kennedy withdrew from the race and endorsed Trump on August 23, there has been no significant change in support.

The joint poll by The New York Times and Siena College, published last Sunday, shows that 78-year-old Trump is leading in public support with 48 points. Kamala Harris is slightly behind with one point less. Harris is marginally ahead in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

Recent polls by CBS and YouGov indicate a fierce contest between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

However, these new polls only reflect the candidates' popularity among voters and do not provide a definitive answer about the winner of the upcoming election.

In the U.S., the presidential election is determined by the Electoral College system, where winning the most votes does not always guarantee victory. Some states consistently favor the same party, but many states are highly competitive, and their results play a crucial role in determining the next president.

According to the polls, Kamala Harris is slightly ahead in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

In states like Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona, the support for both candidates is nearly equal, indicating a highly competitive race.

The Debate Stage is Set

In preparation for the November 5th election, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump are set to face off in their first-ever debate on Tuesday night.

ABC News has completed all preparations for this debate.

ABC News anchors David Muir and Lindsey Davis will pose questions for nearly 90 minutes.

Millions of viewers are expected to watch this debate.

Previously, in June, President Biden experienced difficulty in a debate against Donald Trump, which led to a drop in voter support and internal party pressure, eventually leading Biden to withdraw from the race.

Kamala Harris then entered the electoral race.

Last month, at the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago, Democratic leaders called for Kamala Harris to win the upcoming presidential election.

Joe Biden stated, "We must protect democracy. We are fighting to safeguard the soul of America."
