The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has clarified that there is no inconsistency between its oil production data and figures released by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

In a statement issued on Friday, the NNPC emphasized that both organizations are working in harmony to ensure accurate reporting and transparency in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. This comes amidst concerns raised about possible discrepancies in the nation’s production figures.

According to the NNPC, data is jointly compiled and validated through a robust process that involves all stakeholders, including international oil companies (IOCs) and indigenous operators. "Our production figures are aligned with those of the NUPRC. We are committed to fostering trust and collaboration within the industry," the company stated.

The NUPRC, which oversees upstream operations, has also reiterated its dedication to ensuring accurate reporting and monitoring of the country’s crude oil output. Both agencies have expressed their determination to strengthen data integrity, especially as Nigeria seeks to maximize revenue from its hydrocarbon resources.

The assurance from NNPC and NUPRC comes at a critical time when the country is focusing on curbing oil theft and improving operational efficiency in the sector.

By presenting a united front, the NNPC and NUPRC aim to reinforce investor confidence and demonstrate Nigeria's commitment to accountability in its oil and gas operations.
