In July and earlier this month, former U.S. President Donald Trump was attacked during his campaign events. This is certainly a despicable act. The police have arrested those involved, leading to condemnation and concern from various quarters. Alongside this, the question has arisen: is this assassination attempt real or a drama?

One might think that such doubts are being spread by the opposing political camp, but the situation is not that simple. The British media outlet BBC has spoken to multiple individuals, some of whom are supporters of the Republican Party and others of the Democratic Party. Questions about the authenticity of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump have been raised from both sides.

The BBC spoke with Desirée, known as "Wild Mother" on social media, a well-known supporter of Donald Trump. She has also raised questions about the assassination attempt. Similarly, Camili, a Denver resident who has voted for the Democratic Party for the past 15 years, expressed similar doubts, considering the assassination attempt nothing more than a drama.

In a BBC Radio 4 podcast, these two women spoke in almost identical tones. The BBC sought to understand why such doubts are being spread in political and social circles regarding this assassination attempt.

In the discussion, Wild Mother said that the way the issue is presented on social media makes it reasonable to think it might have been planned. Camili directly stated that this drama was created to increase the chances of winning the upcoming election. She remarked, “I never label such events as drama. Just as COVID-19 was real, and the claims of the 2020 presidential election being fraudulent were false, I immediately stated that. But for the first time, after seeing the incident on July 13, the only word that came to my mind was—drama.” She pointed to the way Trump posed for photos right after the incident and raised his fist.

Wild Mother is also associated with a far-right white supremacist group. Observing the various narratives from the Republican side regarding these assassination attempts, she claims that Donald Trump is fighting against a group of devil worshippers. Supporters of Trump, according to her, staged this assassination attempt to direct blame towards that group within the government. She speaks of a "deep state" comprised of security and intelligence agencies. Her claim is that this drama was orchestrated to showcase a political figure like Trump, who the deep state does not want.

The BBC notes that there is no evidence or concrete information supporting either of these theories.

Camili, however, cited several reasons behind her skepticism, including the intelligence agencies’ failure to ensure security at such a significant event, the resignation of the director of the intelligence department without explanation, the immediate killing of the 20-year-old assailant, and the lack of clarity regarding the motive behind the assassination attempt.

These questions remain—while it's true that one person has been arrested in the second incident, the security and law enforcement agencies could uncover the truth through investigation. However, given how this attack and its veracity have been discussed on social media, it is expected to have an impact on the upcoming elections.
