- The Eagles' offense got a spark after Hurts found Dallas Goedert downfield for a 43-yard gain to set them up at the Saints 13-yard line.
Second Quarter
- The big play momentum didn't last long as Hurts was picked off in the end zone by safety Tyrann Mathieu and returned for 23 yards.
- Hurts had his second turnover of the game as he scrambled out of the pockets and was stripped by Carl Granderson for a fumble recovered by the Saints' Willie Gay.
- Quinyon Mitchell saved a potential touchdown after forcing an incompletion on a deep throw to the end zone by Carr intended for Rashid Shaheed.
- Lane Johnson came out of the game for Fred Johnson as he had to go to the locker room. Tyler Steen replaced Mekhi Becton at right guard as well.
- The Eagles were still searching for point as they ran the two-minute drill. Hurts ripped off a 21-yard run to get them to the Saints 48.
- Hurts found Goedert again for a big gain of 22 yards to set the Eagles up at the New Orleans 24-yard line with 58 seconds remaining.
- However, they would remain scoreless after being stopped on 4th-and-1 after a fake tush-push attempt saw Saquon Barkley get stopped for no gain. The Saints would take a knee and send it to halftime. (Saints 3 – Eagles 0)
